Join the community tree planning program offered by Blue Water Baltimore!
Trees create healthier, more attractive neighborhoods, increase property values, cool our homes, reduce street noise, clean the air, and filter and absorb rainwater. They contribute to the overall health of our streams and the Chesapeake Bay.
How To Participate:
Contact your neighborhood Tree Steward for a consultation:
Scott Greatorex
410-302-7629
scott.greatorex@gmail.com
We’ll contact you to discuss species selection, locating and planting your tree.
Copay is only $75 per tree, and includes buying the tree (a 1-1.5″ caliper, 5-8 feet tall), planted, mulched, with tree stakes and watering ring. A catalogue of available options native to Maryland will be e-mailed to you upon request.
Sign up today to get a tree planted in your yard:
Each home is eligible to purchase up to five trees
Your tree steward will visit your yard to determine the species right for your yard
After placing your order online, your tree steward will place a flag where you want your tree planted.
You will be required to call Miss Utility before planting to mark gas, electric, water or cable lines.
Blue Water Baltimore volunteers will plant your tree in October.
Requirements for getting a tree in your yard:
Own the house at the requested location and have a 20 ‘by 10 ‘planting area or wider. Ensure the tree’s survival to maturity by watering weekly, May to October, for the first 2 years.
